Is there a way to validate cashier logins at sql level? Since the last few RMS updates the cashier passwords are stored in hash format in the database. Is there an SP that validates it? If so which one? Or do I have to know some hash encryption code to be able to do it? Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've been using RMS for 5 years with 2 stores, patiently waiting for
more updated version. I noticed on MS website that Dynamics AX for
Retail was just released. It looks all good but sounds very expensive.
Does anyone know how much? It sounds like more than $10k to 100k or
more. That would leave most of RMS users out of reach.

Dear All,
When I open the payment windows at point of sales to receive the customer payments against the invoice. The following Error appear:
"Headquarter could not be contacted to download account receivable from other store. Showing account receivable for this account only"
( This show only the current store balance)
NOTE: The option ''Connect to HQ to get customer's open AR' in configuration is checked.

I set up discount on item buy x and y for z discount and thats straight forward. Is it possible to set up buy x and get multiple different y's for discount percent off? Or is this an add-on and who is using such an add-on and how well does it work.

I have a situation where every once in a while a store will send transfer to another store and the receiving store will never get it. You can see it is in HQ status closed but not at the receiving store. Sending store inventory has been adjusted correctly. Transfer is in limbo. We are currently sending ws 307 to the receiving store to fix inventory. Any Ideas how to fix or work around these situations?

Each time you try to add a new Supplier it crashes totally with a system.nullreferenceexception error. Suppliers where added initially via an import I believe and this is the first time have had the requirement to add a new supplier.
I have worked around the issue by editing and old supplier directly in the DB. Any suggestions would be appreciated... I tried to get the contents of the error, but you can't copy and paste from the 'more info' window..

Dear All
Can you all, help me in importing external Sql DB data to RMS SQL DB. Although it's a e-commerce database but the schema structure are dissimilar. I want to import it into RMS structure. For example in my DB I have product table in I want to import it into Item table of RMS SQL DB. I have Size and Color table which I haven't find out in RMS DB. Please guide me how to proceed on that.One time import it's required for Customer Data, Inventory Data, and Order Data.

Just wondering what e-commerce shopping cart software everyone has found integrates best with Microsoft RMS? We would like to take our operations online this winter and I would love it if we could integrate that system with our inventory system. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Hi -
We have a second cash register that won't come out of Evaluation Mode,
but the main cash register/database works fine, what can cause this?
I assumed there was a dongle issue but now I wonder about the network
interface or network issue?
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

I am trying to use Managing Offline Inventory function to return old and spoil stock to HQ. The problem is when I use the transfer out function to return the item to HQ, there are only 3 options for transfer type: Standard, Interstore and Supplier. How can I return stock to HQ? Thank you.

Hi,
I am after installing Microsoft RMS 2.0 on a new PC. When I tried to open the POS application a Activation Wizard appeared. I put in my Licence key that i had used on my old PC(broken) and followed the steps. Now everytime i go to open the POS application i get the following error - ""Register 1 is already active"
I am now aware that the same licence key cannot be used on 2 different computers.
What i need to do is the following,
1: Make the activation wizard appear on the new PC instead of this message when opened.
2: Transfer the licence key from the old PC to the new PC.
Can anyone help me or give me adivice with this matter as the customer care numbers haven't a clue what i am talking about.

I have a clothing store. I want to set up buy two shirts for $30. These shirts are normally $20. So, if two shirts($20each) are purchased they will ring up for 15/piece and total $30.
The idea is to have my employees not have to go in a set a pricing structure for each transaction. I would like it to automatically ring up for the discounted price. For security reasons, I don't want my employees to manually be able to change the discount/pricing scheme. I have tried everything I thought possible.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
